It was Children's Day on May 5th in Japan. Typically households with little boys will fly Japanese carp windsocks outside of their homes. Brandon received a small handheld one from my friend. A display with samurai dolls and armour is often displayed inside the house. Brandon was wearing a newspaper hat to signify the kabuto, or samurai helmet.

Hi, he's so cute!
who made a kabuto by paper? so nice!!! Did you have some kashiwa mochi that day? well, usually we buy them at the store, maybe you can make it...if you could.
